About this program

What is the Black Belt?

The Lean Black Belt is a 160-hour advanced certification for leaders who are responsible for building, managing, and sustaining organization-wide improvement programs. Where Green Belt practitioners lead individual projects, Black Belts lead the system: they design improvement infrastructure, coach Green Belts, manage improvement portfolios, and integrate Lean thinking into the operating model of the organization. The program is also delivered via self-paced online learning plus on-demand mentoring. Participants have up to 12 months to complete. Assessment: 4 module assignments and a workplace improvement project.
