Curriculum

What You Will Learn

  1. 1 Lean quality improvement principles in community-based health and social services
  2. 2 The 8 Wastes (DOWNTIME) and how to spot them in your workflows
  3. 3 Root cause analysis fundamentals
  4. 4 Fishbone (Ishikawa) diagrams for structured problem framing
  5. 5 5 Whys for surfacing underlying causes
  6. 6 PDSA / A3 for testing and documenting improvements
  7. 7 Identifying improvement opportunities in your day-to-day work
Assessment: Completion-based. Participants receive a CCA-recognized Lean QI White Belt certificate upon attending both sessions.

Mentor Support

SME Mentor Throughout

Two live online sessions led by an experienced Lean facilitator with deep community health and social services experience. Includes guided practice exercises and Q&A.

Prerequisite: No prerequisites. This is the entry-level program in the CCA Lean QI pathway.

You can continue to the CCA Lean QI Yellow Belt (October 5 and 6, 2026) which builds on White Belt with process mapping, standard work, and 5S. The Lean QI White Belt is also a prerequisite for the Yellow Belt program.
