AI Enablement · Instructor-Led Workshop for Lean Teams

Your team knows how to improve. Now show them where AI fits.

Your practitioners have spent years learning to frame a problem, analyze a process, and run a kaizen. That structured thinking is exactly what makes AI useful. This one-day virtual workshop connects AI directly to the Lean work they already do, without giving up the judgment that makes it good.

The situation

Your practitioners are being asked how AI fits. Most have no structured answer.

The gap is not AI awareness. It is a structured way to connect AI to improvement work, owned by the practitioner.

Across the teams you have trained, the question has shifted. It is no longer whether AI matters. Leadership has bought the tools, and now they are asking improvement people to figure out what to do with them.

A few practitioners have run with it. The rest tried it once, got a generic result that did not connect to their actual work, and set it aside. Generic AI training does not help, because it teaches AI in the abstract and never touches PDCA, value stream mapping, or an A3.

The approach

Built on the Lean thinking your team already uses.

Every part of the day is grounded in improvement practice. AI is mapped onto the tools and the discipline your people already know, so the learning transfers to the next project immediately. The principle running through all of it: AI enhances Lean. It is not the system. Lean thinking stays in charge.

01

Frame the problem

A3 and VSM define the right problem. AI can draft and structure, but it cannot decide what actually matters. That stays with the practitioner.

02

Analyze the cause

AI can widen 5 Whys and surface patterns in data. The gemba walk and the verification still belong to the person who knows the work.

03

Improve

AI drafts standard work, summarizes options, accelerates documentation. The team evaluates, corrects, and decides what to implement.

04

Sustain

AI supports monitoring and reporting. Control of the process, and accountability for the outcome, remain with the practitioner.

The workshop

One day. Real tasks. Live practice.

We do not teach features. People do not struggle because they cannot find the right button. They struggle because they cannot tell a genuinely good output from a confident-sounding wrong one. The day is built around three parts.

01

AI Fundamentals for Lean

What AI is and is not, in plain language. The types practitioners actually encounter, how it works, and why it is confidently wrong more often than people expect. No model theory.

02

AI Across Your Lean Tools

Live practice applying AI to value stream mapping, 5 Whys, standard work, and A3 documentation. Real prompts against real improvement scenarios, with a debrief after each.

03

Responsible Use

Hallucination, bias, privacy, and over-reliance, each with a direct Lean parallel. Participants leave with a simple check to run before acting on any AI output, and a personal action plan.

Why practitioners have the edge

Lean is what makes AI trustworthy.

The people who use AI well are not the most technical. They are the ones who can frame a question, think in structured ways, and challenge information before acting on it. That describes a trained Lean practitioner. Four habits transfer directly.

  • Structured problem-solving. PDCA and A3 discipline is exactly what turns a vague prompt into a useful one.
  • Data skepticism. Practitioners already ask where data came from and what it is missing. That is the right stance for AI output.
  • Gemba orientation. The habit of checking analysis against the real work protects against acting on plausible but wrong AI output.
  • Respect for people. Frontline knowledge stays the primary source. AI informs the investigation, it does not replace it.

In their words

Anonymized participant feedback.

"The considerations around using AI. I understood it is not the most reliable, and getting into why and how helps shape how I use it going forward."

Workshop participant

"Loved the style. No pressure, which made it easier to try things and speak up during the discussions."

Workshop participant

"The training was very helpful and engaging."

Common questions

FAQ

Who is this for?

Lean practitioners at any level, White Belt through Black Belt or equivalent experience. It builds AI fluency on top of the improvement thinking your people already have.

Do participants need any AI experience?

No. The workshop assumes they know Lean, not AI. It builds from the ground up, using their existing improvement knowledge as the foundation.

How is it delivered?

One day, virtual and instructor-led, delivered for a group from your organization. It is highly interactive: group exercises, live practice on real tasks, and open debriefs. Dates are scheduled with us, subject to a minimum number of participants.

Is there a certificate?

Participants receive a certificate of completion for the workshop. This is a capability session, not an assessed credential. Practitioners who want a credentialed qualification can complete our self-paced AI for Lean Practitioners program, which is separately assessed and carries a digital badge.

We work in healthcare. Is it still relevant?

Yes. The frameworks are grounded in improvement practice, not sector-specific context, so healthcare teams recognize and apply the content immediately. The examples can be tuned to your environment for your cohort.

Is this the same as your Lean belt programs?

No. It is a standalone workshop focused on how AI applies to Lean work. It complements belt certification and can be delivered at any point.

What does it cost, and is funding available?

Cohort pricing is scoped to your group size and delivery needs. Canada-Ontario Job Grant and other provincial funding may offset the cost for eligible employers. Contact us for a quote.

The capability is already in your team. This connects it to AI.
